Position Summary
The UIC Urban Health Program is seeking Graduate Students in the UIC Health Science Colleges to serve as Peer Educators for Health Career Pathway Program (HCPP). HCPP is a five-grant program funded by the U.S. Health Resources Services Administration. The grant is housed in the UIC College of Dentistry.Designing and implementing HCPP programs and activities
Manage the HCPP day-to-day programming needs
Recruiting and evaluating HCPP student participants
Mentoring HCPP student participants
Leading or coordinating HCPP presentations
Overseeing HCPP social media and e-learning platforms
Creating HCPP promotional materials
Tabulating HCPP metrics and data including student quizzes and assignments.
Tracking of students
Additional HCPP duties as assigned.

The HCPP will focus on assisting environmentally and/ economically disadvantaged students to enter and successfully complete health professions schools. The goal of HCPP is to improve recruitment, matriculation, retention, and graduation rates by implementing tailored enrichment programs designed to address the academic and social needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
