Position Summary
This position will provide oral and facial prosthetic rehabilitation for pediatric and adult patients with congenital or acquired conditions of the oral cavity, head, and neck. The provider will work in close cooperation with medical and dental specialists, as well as allied health professionals, at the Craniofacial Center to deliver comprehensive functional and aesthetic rehabilitation for patients. The provider will perform all clinical steps for fabrication of oral and facial prostheses and supervise laboratory technologists to ensure the highest quality of prosthetic outcomes. The provider must be proficient in planning and restoring dental implants. Surgical experience in placement of intraoral implants is an added benefit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The individual will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary, comprehensive care team.
- Provide oral and facial prosthetic rehabilitation services for children and adults with congenital or acquired craniofacial conditions.
- Proficient in the placement and restoration of oral osseointegrated implants and have familiarity with the placement and restoration of craniofacial osseointegrated implants and the fabrication of adhesive and implant retained facial prostheses.
- Provide dental evaluation and treatment for patients receiving radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or organ transplants.
- Conduct digital prosthetic procedures including intraoral scanning, implant planning and the design and fabrication of surgical guides for oral and facial prostheses.
- Conducts educational programs and research relative to Maxillofacial Prosthetics.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
