What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Specialist - Physical Therapy, College of Applied Health Sciences position at uic?
Under the supervision of the Director of Revenue Operations, this position will oversee the Department of Physical Therapy's office Health Span Faculty practice's patient registration, insurance verification and scheduling. Assists with establishing the work-flow management for patients visits and counseling providers on insurance limits for their patients. Creates patients files, upload office encounter for to the 3rd party biller portal
Duties & Responsibilities:
Completes insurance eligibility for all new office based patients. Creates and maintain database for all insurers.
Assist PT providers and students workers on how to properly register patients, gathers needed insurance_x000d_
information for each person, schedules patients according to their specific insurance benefits
Responsible for keeping up to date on insurance charges for PT services and individual insurance providers rates of reimbursement. Attend monthly managed care operation committee meetings and repot updates back to the clinic admin and providers
Cross check all patient encounter forms for accuracy and completeness. Upload encounter to Box for access by_x000d_
3rd party biller. Liaison with 3rd party biller if any issues/questions regarding encounters
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
