Position Summary

• Work collaboratively with Principal Investigator, other researchers, and key personnel to meet research objectives._x000d_
• Conduct translational research using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo murine models of disease_x000d_
• Perform laboratory experiments and collect, analyze, and interpret data._x000d_
• Analyze scientific literature and evaluate current research results._x000d_
• Maintain an updated lab notebook and data repository_x000d_
• Assist with ordering lab supplies and maintaining laboratory stock and inventories.

• Disseminate original research results in peer-review journals and present the findings at national/international scientific_x000d_
conferences_x000d_
• Prepare papers, presentations, abstract creation, grant applications, and other documents._x000d_

The Maidana Lab in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago focuses on
investigating the role of retinal microglia and peripheral monocytes in photoreceptor cell death and vision loss. We are looking
for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow who is interested in translational eye research. The fellow will study the molecular
events of retinal neuroinflammation using preclinical models of photoreceptor cell death.
This position is available immediately. Position will start hourly for initial period of three months. Full-time opportunities will
be discussed after.
