Overview
SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER | TIER III (MIELS) :
Bowhead is seeking Senior Systems Engineers to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues both on prem and in the cloud.
- Resolve escalated technical problems that Tier I and Tier II support teams are unable to solve.
- Administer, configure, and maintain complex systems, including servers, networks, and databases.
- Perform in-depth diagnostics and analysis to identify root causes of issues across systems and applications.
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments, including VMware or Hyper-V platforms.
- Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD / IC policies and regulations.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware for critical infrastructure.
- Develop and implement automation tools to streamline system administration tasks.
- Perform regular system performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee and support system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to minimize downtime and risk.
- Collaborate with network engineers, developers, and other teams to troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Tier I and Tier II staff on complex technical issues.
- Implement and manage system monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Assist with evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and processes to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements for all systems.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED : Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret / SCI level with Counter Intelligence Polygraph. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
