Position Summary
This position is a principle contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is

responsible for all aspects of the project from development through delivery. Perform complex study and data collection methods. May coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of lower level research staff. This position will be funded by the HRSA State Maternal Health Innovation Program. This position will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the Rural Maternal Behavioral Health Access innovation project.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the adaptation of the comprehensive behavioral health model to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in rural Illinois as part of the Rural Maternal Behavioral Health Access innovation project.
  • Conducts research interviews, screenings, and assessments to determine the health, mental health, substance use, social determinants of health needs of pregnant and postpartum individuals.
  • As part of research data collection and intervention protocol, provides research-based psychoeducation, case management, coordination, and brief intervention services based on the identified needs (health, mental health, substance use, and social determinants of health) of participants. This will include referral to other service providers and resources along with follow­ up and monitoring.
  • Collects and documents survey data from patients for evaluation being conducted in the research project.
  • Collaborates, coordinates, and consults with research investigators and staff to meet the health and behavioral health needs of participants.
  • Develop resource materials and protocols patients as needed.
  • Participates in the clinic planning and coordination meetings.
  • Works closely with the perinatal psychiatrist and physician to deliver virtual integrated health and behavioral health care.
  • Serves as first line of customer service for project communication.
  • Organize and lead internal team meetings as assigned.
  • Assist in developing and implementing protocols and procedures for the project and quality improvement.
  • Collect and review data, evaluations and surveys to develop reports for grant sponsors.
  • Assist with project progress reports.
  • Apply mental health expertise for the development of behavioral health care in rural areas to improve maternal health.
  • Collaborate closely with the research team to ensure project goals are met.
  • Leads the clinical team, including physicians, psychiatrist, and other clinical professions on the implementation of the project.
  • Serves as the liaison between the project and outside partners.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
