Position Summary
This position is a principal contributor in developing specific research project requirements and is responsible for all aspects of the project from development through delivery. Perform a randomized control study using a behavioral sleep intervention and use different data collection methods such as surveys and Fitbit. May coordinate and direct the work and research tasks of lower-level research staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct and coordinate advanced research studies. Analyze and interpret data and results and refine study design.
Develop and write advanced study protocols.
Evaluate current developments and research findings to determine their potential applicability to research projects.
Replicate, refine and add/develop new research approaches based on project needs. Advise on new direction for research based on study results.
Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis and implement changes as needed.
Prepare, organize and communicate research results. Write papers, grants, and other documents for publication based on research findings.
Author and co-author articles for publication and present at scientific symposia and conferences.
May act as supervisor or team lead in directing and coordinating the work of lower level staff. Guide, train and advise lower level researchers and students on techniques, methods and procedures.
Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Assist the Principal and Co-Investigators to implement the intervention, maintain the integrity of the intervention, and assist with developing and implementing all procedures and protocols
Maintain regular job contact with the study research associates/interventionists, research assistants/data manager
Manage day-to-day operations such as organization of timelines, budget including purchase intervention kit items and tracking of enrollment/attrition
Serve as the Quality Assurance Manager and direct quality control through monthly review of procedures for recruitment and intervention protocols, chart audit data, and safety monitoring
Coordinate activities of the research staff under the direction of the Principal Investigator
Work directly with PI and co-PIs on all phases of the project, including the hiring and training of staff
Schedule team meetings and communicate effectively with all project staff.
Maintain project files and supplies/equipment; schedule and attend regular staff meetings; Seek input from Co-Is at scheduled meetings; and assist with administration of budget processes.
Coordinate the progress of the research project. Strategize and plan to meet project timelines.
Maintain human subjects training certification, EPIC training and IRB approval in the team.
Lead the processes of data collection and management. Coordinate and assist in the analysis and report writing.
Function as liaison between the grant project team and the clinical site, consultants, and other individuals and organizations involved with the project. Assist with building and maintaining alliances with them to facilitate research efforts.
Schedule and organize visits for project consultants and other individuals and organizations involved with the project.
Participate in consultation visits; structure and facilitate communication among grant personnel. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
