ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR | TIER II (MIELS):
Bowhead is seeking Engineering Systems Administrators to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.

Bowhead is seeking Engineering Systems Administrators to support a customer in Stafford, VA. Support for the contract will consist of program management; logistics; asset management; engineering; customer service; research and development of new capabilities; test and evaluation; manpower, training, and personnel; new equipment fielding and training; financial management; information assurance; cybersecurity; and 24X7 enterprise services operations and sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and related software on proem and in the cloud.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
- Install and maintain infrastructure services including: Servers, Storage, KVM, etc as required in support of enterprise operations.
- Implement and manage security measures to comply with DoD/IC policies and regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Administer and support physical and virtual servers across multiple sites.
- Ensure proper configuration and health of server hardware, including storage and compute resources.
- Develop and implement scripts to automate system administration tasks.
- Provide advanced support for technical issues escalated from lower tier administrators or end users.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with other teams to support system integrations and new initiatives.
- Assess system performance and scalability to ensure infrastructure can support future growth.
- Associates degree, or 5 years’ of practical experience, in system administration management.
- Five (5 ) years’ experience in system engineering environment management.
- DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required.
- Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified within the task order.
- Cloud certified.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
