What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant position at Uintah Basin Healthcare?
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) facilitates quality development and rehabilitation of residents with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning, evaluating, and administering medical referrals. The qualified candidate is also responsible for the following occupational therapy duties :
- Develop and document treatment plans and goals.
- Provides appropriate therapy treatments as indicated.
- Re-assesses resident status and adjusts treatment plans according to their abilities and appropriate level of independence.
- Educates and makes recommendations to residents and family members.
- Completes all daily documentation and paperwork.
- Coordinates with other care providers to promote a healing environment for residents.
- Utilizes therapeutic knowledge, interventions, equipment, and expertise to assist residents in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning.
- Performs other duties as directed, prescribed, and required.
