What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Tech position at Uintah Engineering & Land Surveying?
The Incumbent in the Data Tech position performs technical support work. The Team Member performs project analysis, data processing, preparation of boundary and topographic surveys, prepping projects for field work, and project submittals.
- Reads and understands plans and specification
- Performs Quality Control on all work.
- Completes timely & accurate accounting of all time and expense activity.
- Prepares corner recordations & processes survey data to ensure accurate, complete and organized files.
- Submits projects to the Drafting department.
- Coordinates design efforts with other Team Members.
- Assists field crews by preparing project files, maps, and materials.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, including a background in math, geometry, and/or trigonometry. Must have 6-12 months of experience as a Survey Field Assistant and/or related training or schooling.
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the Oil & Gas Surveying Industry; basic knowledge of sources of measurement errors; demonstrated understanding of monumentation, staking and marking.
Skills & Abilities: Proficient math and computer skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills (courtesy, discretion & sound judgment); good planning & organizational skills; proactive, positive and professional approach and attitude with the ability to be adaptable and flexible; work effectively as a team contributor on assignments; detail-oriented.
MVR (Motor Vehicle Report): Must have current and valid driver’s license with MVR that meets Company requirements throughout the duration of employment.
Additional: Must be flexible and adaptable to change. Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 75 lbs. Must be Honest, Professional, Organized, Pay Attention to Detail, Dependable, Thorough, Possess Excellent Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Safety Conscious, Strong Work Ethic, Self-driven with little or no supervision. Must participate in company drug & alcohol compliance program.
Working Conditions: Mental and physical labors are a part of this job. Working conditions could be indoor or outdoor and the job is subject to extreme weather conditions.
