Summary:
The Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) invites applications for two non-tenure-track instructor positions to begin August 2025. The UIS Computer Science Department offers innovative programs in computer science, information systems security, and data analytics. The department has been designated a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, and prides itself on its small class sizes and distinguished faculty dedicated to research and teaching. This is a full-time on-campus position. The position involves on-campus and online development and delivery of core and elective undergraduate Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering courses, providing service to the department, college and university, and completing other program related duties as assigned. Candidates must hold an MS in computer science or a closely related field and have experience teaching core and elective, on-campus and online computer science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence courses.
This is a full-time on-campus position and benefit-eligible non-tenured academic appointment. UIS faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the university community to perform professional responsibilities as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching: The position involves on-campus and online development and delivery of core and elective undergraduate Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering courses, providing service to the department, college and university, and completing other program duties as assigned. Typical teaching load is 4/4.
Service: Service to the department, college, and university is expected.
