Job Summary
University of Kentucky HealthCare is a fast-paced academic medical center, seeking an Immunohistochemistry Laboratory Technical Specialist with a wide range of experience in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and immunohistochemistry.
The Specialist oversees the daily operations of our IHC department and must have the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, high volume deadline driven environment. Delivers and files slides and blocks. Develops quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures. Generates new ideas or techniques to improve the ongoing growth and quality of the laboratory.
To perform specialized techniques in immunocytochemical testing techniques and to provide expertise in the development and utilization of these techniques.
Must be able to recognize improper staining and have the ability to troubleshoot and correct problems. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Adheres to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines. Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members. Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, and staff. Attention to detail is a must.
