Job Description
The data engineer is a critical role in growing the data maturity of the lab organization at UL Solutions. The candidate will be a part of a multidisciplinary team of software developers, data scientists, and architects working toward developing data solutions for the lab. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing ETL / ELT pipelines and data warehousing. Sources may come from disparate data types including legacy databases and documents using popular open-source software. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, technology teams, and management to design and validate the capabilities of the data platform. This position requires a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in data processing and orchestration.
Responsibilities
- As a data engineer, you will be a part of a multidisciplinary team of software developers, data scientists, and architects working toward developing data solutions for the lab.
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing ETL / ELT pipelines and data warehousing. Sources may come from disparate data types including legacy databases and documents
- Own the end-to-end ingest and egress frameworks for data pipelines that stitch together various data sources to produce valuable data products that drive the business
- Partner with operations, product, and engineering teams to advocate best practices and build data solutions for the various needs
- Design and roadmap UL's data maturity
