Our Lowell, AR testing laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join the Tools & Furniture testing team! An ideal candidatewill be ready to help our customers and us work toward our goal of making the world a safer, more secure, and sustainable place to live, work, and play.

Our Lowell, AR testing laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join the Tools & Furniture testing team! An ideal candidatewill be ready to help our customers and us work toward our goal of making the world a safer, more secure, and sustainable place to live, work, and play.
What a Laboratory Assistant does at UL Solutions:
- Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
- Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
- Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
- Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
- As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.
- Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
- Records and explains test results.
- Reads and interprets results of tests.
- Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
- Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
- As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.
- Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
- Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
- Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.
- Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
- Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
- Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.

- Required: Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
- Highly Preferred: Higher Secondary Education. Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
- Preferred: Experience utilizing LabWare software.
