What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Sales Solar PV Solution Architect position at UL Solutions?
Job Description
We are seeking a Solutions Architect with extensive knowledge in solar project development and finance in the Renewables industry to sell complex technological products and services.
You will have extensive technical knowledge with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support engineering team needs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to close business deals within the solar industry and established relationships with large solar developers and lenders.
Responsibilities
- Support Business Development team with the preparation of sales proposal, Request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) responses for prequalified opportunities, ensuring the offer meets client requirements and expectations.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to engineering and financing teams of customers and prospective customers.
- Lead technical discussions showing great understanding on solar project development, project milestones, and timelines, providing confidence to customers that all details have been reviewed, discussed, shared, and understood
- Organize technical discussions with project lenders to better understand our / their customer needs and collect feedback of ULS presented work
- Recommend internal process improvements for proposal development, data collection, and communication to improve the efficiency of the sales process.
- Develop deep understanding of the competition and leverage technical skills and knowledge of UL services to explain the benefits of ULS to potential and existent customers
- Become the subject matter expert and understand technically what problems our customers are trying to solve, review requirements, educate, and tailor the scope of work to our customer specific needs.
- Work closely with the sales manager on pipeline management and the opportunity funnel
- Serve as a mentor to the sales team so they can with time, excel on driving project discovery calls, drive standard scope discussions, and draft project scope of work for your review
- Support Project Management team during the implementation of a project and milestone delivery
- Collect and share feedback on ability of ULS to meet customer scope requirements and deadlines in an effective manner. Help management understand technical resource needs.
- Conduct new market research, investigate project trends, and support the development of UL Advisory Services offering

Salary : $80,000 - $105,000
