Job Description
Ulbrich of California is currently seeking a Slitter Helper for their West Coast Service Center located in Pico Rivera, CA.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Loading and unloading steel coils onto a slitting machine
- Cutting cores for metal to be wound onto from a slitting machine
- Driving a sit-down forklift to retrieve steel coils from inventory racks
- Weighing steel coils and handling scrap metal
- Banding skids and packaging steel coils
- Lifting coils and packages that weigh a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Creating and printing ID tags for coils
- Entering production data and measurements into a computer system
- Making calculations using mathematical formulas
- Work safely, follow all service center safety procedures and ensure that all freight carriers are adhering to the procedures.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, Previous background experience in manufacturing, production and forklift driving is preferred. The ability to use a computer and various measuring tools along with good math skills is required.
