THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: 

ULTA Beauty Information Technology is looking for an experienced Architect to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team. This enterprise data champion must be an innovative thinker and will work closely with business and IT teams to understand capability needs and define strategies to enable market differentiation for Ulta. The Architect should be comfortable working in a highly collaborative, dynamic, and fast paced environment with minimal direction and should have the ability to influence thought processes across various levels in the organization. Assignments may vary from well-defined, long term initiatives to ad-hoc work requests that are critical to business success.

 

A solid background in the Retail Industry is required.

 

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

The Architect defines, architect, and implement key architectural components of the enterprise data lake ecosystem supporting enterprise-wide analytics, AI/ML and Business Intelligence. These include the enterprise data platform on Google cloud, data pipelines, data governance, data catalog, and the data quality.

· Design conceptual, logical and physical data models, within a complete functional and technical architecture.

· Architect common frameworks for ingestion pipelines to consume data real time and detect drifts with proper controls to handle errors and delays.

· Partners with other architects from the cloud, infrastructure, security and other domain experts to define data platform technical strategy, roadmap and architecture.

· Assess data platform implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.

· Assess platform utilization and build Finops processes and find opportunities to optimize cloud cost.

· Performing third-party vendor assessments and developing/leading proof-of-concept initiatives

· Staying current with industry trends, vendor product offerings and emerging data solutions in use across the industry; continuously learning new data technologies

· Coordinating with other team members to reach project milestones and deadlines

· Identifying areas for improvement in current systems

ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.

· 12 years of overall experience in information technology including architecture, design and development.

· 5 years of experience in architecting and delivering enterprise data solutions on cloud.

· Expertise in data models, data pipelines, devops and cloud-based infrastructure disciplines such as serverless computing, containerization and microservices architecture.

· Expertise in data centric security architecture concepts and open standards.

· Hybrid Cloud-based data architecture, data ingestion, curation and self-service reporting frameworks

· Expertise with event-based sourcing and event streaming, specifically with technologies like Kafka, Spark and GCP Pub/Sub.

· Solid understanding of retail industry business and IT processes and systems.

· Experience in designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications within GCP using tools such as Data Proc, Big Query, Big Table, Pub/Sub, Databricks etc.

· Expertise in architecting and developing data warehouse solutions, for enterprise reporting and analytics applications

· Experience with Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Enterprise Data Catalogs, a huge plus

· Experience with data integration tools such as Talend, Informatica or similar.

· Knowledge of Data Science platforms such as Databricks is a plus

· Knowledge of reporting and analytic tools such as Power BI and Tableau

· Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.

The pay range for this position is $117,000.00 - $170,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
