THE IMPACT YOU CAN MAKE:

This role will support the Senior Director, Value Realization in expanding the Value Realization capability in support of the largest, most transformational initiatives Ulta Beauty undertakes. This role will inspire and engage the organization in defining, capturing, and managing value for transformational enterprise initiatives and delivering on Ulta Beauty’s strategic and financial objectives. This role will collaborate with members of the Transformation Portfolio and Finance teams, as well as with senior leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders.

The Sr. Manager Value Realization must demonstrate a critical blend of both strong enterprise thinking and cross-functional leadership capabilities, paired with excellent financial acumen and a track record of successful value identification, management, and capture from complex enterprise initiatives in a retail environment. The ability to influence, advise and manage across cross-functional players and teams is critical.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Independently managing value (costs and benefits) of highly complex, transformational enterprise initiatives from identification through capture.
• Operating as the value realization lead within a highly cross-functional team, including partners across Strategic Portfolio Delivery (Program and Change Management), FP&A, IT, Accounting, Continuous Improvement, and other areas.
• Serving on program leadership team, including facilitating and participating in critical program meetings (e.g., kickoffs, scoping, value case, change controls, etc.) to support delivery of successful enterprise programs in a transparent manner.
• Holistically identify and manage program value cases, including leading progress tracking, estimate revisions, forecasting (for program and resources), and reporting of financial status.
• Driving value realization through identifying relevant metrics to monitor at both program and project levels.
• Analyzing variance of benefits against estimates, performing root cause analysis and supporting cross-functional program teams in defining appropriate remedies.
• Working closely with accounting partners to determine appropriate classification for accounting treatment decisions, supporting interaction with internal and external audit partners to maintain organizational compliance.
• Within programs, validate internal and external estimates for level of effort, cost and benefits, in the context of the overall program and the enterprise.
• Validating work performed and goods received for enterprise programs, supporting period-end financial reporting and invoice processing.
• Providing timely communications to project leadership and key stakeholders on overall financial status, critical variance points, and risks.
• Assist Agile teams in development and validation of OKRs and translation of OKRs into impact estimates.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THIS BY:

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience in value realization/capture, financial planning & analysis, or financial reporting, and/or post-merger integration, preferably in a strategy consulting company or equivalent position in a retail environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams to identify, capture and track value in transformational initiatives of large scope, scale and risk in a retail environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on demonstrated financial acumen. Strong ability to complete quantitative analysis and analyze financial results with an enterprise lens.
• Exposure to and basic knowledge of program management, change management and strategic capabilities.
• Highly collaborative with track record of effective cross-functional leadership and proven ability to influence at all levels.
• Enterprise thinker with ability to ‘connect the dots.
• Ability to manage a team, both direct report(s) and cross-functional stakeholders on large initiatives.
• Excellent time management, planning, management, and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and make ongoing decisions with key stakeholder input.
