The Store Experience Operations Sr. Specialist is responsible for supporting project governance, developing project plans that capture critical milestones, tracking timelines, and archiving key phases of design and implementation. This role facilitates essential cross-functional communication within the department, ensuring visibility and alignment between teams to achieve business goals and design brief objectives.

 

The Sr. Specialist plays a pivotal role in advancing new in-store concepts while effectively identifying roadblocks and mitigating risks. They support the Senior Manager of Store Experience Operations by creating, implementing, and maintaining processes, overseeing departmental budget planning, and assisting with systems integration and automation initiatives as needed.

 

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a proven track record of leading multiple projects simultaneously while driving successful results in retail, operations, or a service-related industry.

The Store Experience Operations Sr. Specialist is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently through the following (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

 

 

Performance               

·       Develops and maintains an understanding and fluency in our department projects and how they integrate into the brand’s overall strategies.

·       Collaborates with international counterparts to ensure domestic initiatives translated for other markets.

·       Drives accountability to plan, execute, and achieve project objectives in established timelines.

·       Monitors and prioritizes projects in alignment with organizational strategic imperatives while adapting to evolving business needs without compromising quality.

·       Provides timely and accurate reports on project status to stakeholders while adhering to Ulta Beauty’s standards.

·       Delivers quality solutions that meet the constraints of time, cost, and scope.

·       Manages coordination of cross-functional collaboration meetings, including agenda preparation and recap documentation.

·       Implements and manage tools/systems for workflow optimization and project tracking.

 

People

·       Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and open communication.

·       Leads cross-functional collaboration efforts to launch new initiatives and track milestones.

·       Guides project teams in defining deliverables, milestones, resources, and schedules.

·       Anticipates and mitigates the impact of critical project issues, escalating when necessary.

 

Process

·       Assists in developing and documenting process documents and training materials.

·       Supports the creation and development of project management tools.

·       Aids in tracking project budgets and ensures consistency in reporting across teams.

·       Establish best practices for tracking and routing critical documentation across multiple teams.

·       Coordinates with Store Design, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Production Design, Creative, Pricing, and Marketing teams and varying cross functional partners to implement solutions that optimize use of store resources and process efficiencies to rollout and execute major initiatives.

 

 

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS 

 

Education

·       Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years of equivalent experience

 

Experience

·       4-8 years of project management experience

·       PMP Certification (PMP), preferred or ability to obtain within 18 months

·       Change management experience or ability to complete Ulta training in first 3 months

 

Skills

·       Robust knowledge of retail design, visual merchandising, fixture and collateral production.

·       Strong analytical, organizational, and procedural skills, with a focus project management and process management.

·       Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on the ability to foster relationships and collaborative discourse.

·       Demonstrated project management planning/execution skills with a record of leading projects to obtain tangible business results

·       Experience leading cross functional teams with diverse goals and responsibilities

·       Expert level verbal and written communication skills

·       Proven expert level organizational skills with the analytical ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize effectively

·       Ability to quickly learn and understand business processes outside area of expertise

·       Energy, enthusiasm, and drive to continuously and proactively manage a heavy workload

·       Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Sharepoint

 

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

·       Ability to travel, including overnight stays

 

WORKING CONDITIONS                                                        

·       Normal office demands

·       Visit stores to develop an understanding of the store experience and collaborate with field partners

The pay range for this position is $64,900.00 - $86,400.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
