The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for an experienced Senior Survey Crew Chief. The position offers the opportunity for advancement for the motivated individual who is willing to learn the skills and technology required to become a Professional Land Surveyor.
What You'll Do
The Senior Survey Crew Chief is responsible for supervising field survey crew members to ensure field surveys are complete to the standards of practice for land surveying and within budgetary and time constraints. You will participate in the support of survey projects and interact with clients regularly. Assists and helps mentor less experienced survey crew members and participates in developing a solid team. The Party Chief will be responsible for accurate and appropriate use of field equipment, and training of junior members to know when and how to use the equipment. Party Chief will be responsible for being able to accurately describe and sketch boundary and topographic surveys, as well as as-builts. The Crew Chief will be able to effectively communicate through field notes, written text and verbally. The Crew Chief will be able to work in conjunction with the office in unique situations and follow instructions. Surveys will include but may not be limited to; Control Networks, Tree Surveys, Boundary and Topography, Setting targets for both Aerial and Terrestrial LiDAR, Operating X9 Laser Scanner, ALTA Surveys and Construction Staking.
What We Expect from You
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief
- Experience in construction, boundary, topographic and ALTA surveys as they relate to municipal, DOT, energy, renewable wind, and solar projects.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and understand all survey field equipment (GPS, Conventional Total Station, Robotic Total Station, Data controllers, Automatic levels etc.)
- Ability to run conventional traverse networks and level loops.
- Able to write complete and accurate field notes.
- Organize field staking materials as necessary.
- Display leadership, good judgment, trust, honesty and professionalism.
- Have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Able to walk long distances.
- Have OSHA 10 / 30 certification.
- Willing to follow instructions and survey procedures.
- Be able to solve survey issues in a timely and independent fashion.
- Work well with others.
- Must be willing and able to travel over 90% of the time.
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details :
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $26.44 - $35.67 per hour
