Summer 2025 Civil/Structural Engineer Intern - Renewables

The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking an intern to work in our civil and structural Solar, Wind, and Battery Storage engineering design teams. The Engineering Intern works under close supervision with a team of engineers and technicians; receives specific and detailed instructions required to complete tasks and meet results expected. An internship with Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a top consulting engineering firm.

What You'll Do

• Assist in the development of construction plans of utility scale wind, solar and/or BESS renewable projects.
• Works closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple projects as assigned..
• Learn design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Develop an understanding of typical design deliverables and assist in production of plans and permits for projects of various sizes in various locations.
• Support and develop project permit applications
• Develop an understanding of federal, state, and local authorities having jurisdiction regulations and requirements. Develop an understanding of Ulteig team and client expectations and standards.
• Collaborate across project disciplines to perform necessary design calculations, sketches, plan preparation as assigned.
• Potential to assist project engineers in performing field visits.
  
  

What We Expect From You

• Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent experience highly preferred
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), and any additional software knowledge depending on specialization
• Must be able to work full time during summer 2025.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

Target Base Compensation for this role is $25.00/hr
