Position Overview:
UBA is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach to join our coaching staff for the 2025 Spring season, with an opportunity to continue supporting the summer legion program. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement practice plans, assist with game strategy, and foster a positive environment for student-athletes. This is a great opportunity for a passionate individual to contribute to the growth and success of our baseball program.
Key Responsibilities:
Spring Season:
- Assist the Head Varsity Coach in conducting daily practices, ensuring that all drills and activities align with the program’s goals.
- Work with athletes to develop individual skills, including batting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
- Help with game preparation, including organizing lineups, reviewing opponent strategies, and providing feedback during games.
- Maintain a positive, motivating, and respectful atmosphere during practices and competitions.
- Monitor student-athlete performance, behavior, and academic standing, collaborating with other staff to ensure their well-being and success.
- Assist in managing team logistics, including equipment inventory, uniform distribution, and team communications.
Summer Legion Program (Optional):
- Assist in coaching and supporting athletes during the summer legion baseball season.
- Help plan and execute summer training, tournaments, and competitive games.
- Serve as a mentor to players during the off-season, promoting continued development and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and experience in coaching baseball at the high school level or higher.
- Ability to demonstrate effective baseball techniques and strategies, with a focus on skill development and team-building.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of connecting with student-athletes, parents, and fellow coaches.
- A passion for developing student-athletes not only in sport but also in character and academics.
- Previous coaching or playing experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Must pass all necessary background checks and hold any required certifications as per state/school district requirements.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $2,000.00 - $5,000.00 per year
