Ultimate Care NY is seeking a talented Intake Specialist to join our team!

As an Authorization Specialist , your key role will be to help us educate our consumers on available services and assist them in the process to get approved. This is an exciting role that works with an Ultimate team! Join us and help us maintain our commitment to the excellence of home care services!

Compensation : $23-25 an hour Work Schedule : Mon - Fri, 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM

You will :

  • Process and track authorizations for home health services, ensuring timely submission to insurance providers.
  • Review patient records and treatment plans to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to secure necessary authorizations for services.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to denied or delayed authorizations, including re-submissions or appeals.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all authorization activities.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and other team members to ensure care plans align with authorization requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, billing codes, and regulatory requirements related to home care.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and efficient communication.

You will have :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, allowing you to successfully manage multiple schedules and task simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software or systems is a plus, as it can streamline the scheduling process and enhance efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with clients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure, ensuring that challenges are effectively addressed.
  • Ability to work in collaborative environment across departments
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Previous experience in scheduling or coordination, preferably in a healthcare or home care setting
  • Ability to adapt to new software and work models.
  • Knowledge of HHAeXchange
