What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Plant Operations position at Ultimate Healthcare Facility?
A Long-term Care Facility in Nassau County seeks a Plant Operations Director to join our team. In this position, you will be an integral member of the facility workforce and the main point of contact for queries, requests, and facility issues as they arise. This position has 24-hour accountability for off-hour emergencies.
This position oversees the Environmental and Building Service Department to ensure the facility is clean, sanitary, well-maintained, and complies with Healthcare, OSHA, Fire Safety, and infection control standards.
The role includes staffing, scheduling, compliance oversight coordination with vendors, and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications
3-5 years’ experience in plant operations, maintenance, or facilities management in a healthcare Long-term care setting.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, Fire Safety OSHA regulations, life safety codes, DOH regulations, and infection control best practices.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of MS Office is required.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Primarily day shift with flexibility for off-hours and on-call responsibilities in case of emergencies.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and navigate facility spaces, including basements and rooftops.
