UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

Purpose of the Position:

This position manages comprehensive, strategic learning and organizational development programs, including overseeing design and implementation, to enhance team member skills, leadership capabilities, and overall organizational effectiveness. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, this role contributes to the organization's growth, adaptability, and long-term success.

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Learning and Development Planning: Develop and implement strategic learning and development plans that align with organizational goals. Conduct needs assessments, set objectives, and oversee the design of programs that enhance team member skills and organizational capabilities. Collaborate with key stakeholders and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  • Leadership and Career Development: Create and oversee leadership and career development programs to cultivate future leaders within the organization. Provide high-potential team members with targeted development opportunities. Mentor and coach to support team member career growth and development.
  • Instructional Design and Program Development: Lead the design and development of comprehensive training programs using instructional design principles. Ensure that programs are engaging, effective, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of the workforce. Incorporate innovative learning methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Administration: Manage the administration of the organization's LMS for team members, ensuring it is effectively utilized to deliver and track training programs. Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and continuously improve the system to enhance user experience and training outcomes.
  • Organizational Development and Change Management: Support organizational development initiatives by implementing change management strategies. Provide training and support to team members during transitions to ensure smooth adaptation and continuous productivity. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning through effective mentorship and coaching.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years previous learning & development/training experience required to effectively perform the role.
  • Skills - learning science/training delivery & facilitation, design principles & tools, cultural awareness and inclusion, instructional design principles & tools, mentorship/coaching, leadership & career development.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Supportive of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate or coursework in education, education technology, curriculum and instruction or related field.
  • 5 years previous learning & development/training experience required to effectively perform the role.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.

Compliance:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and carefully follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time remote position.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment, accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Anticipated Starting Salary Is Based On Experience And Qualifications.

Compensation Range

$60,000—$75,000 USD
