Purpose of the Position:
The R2T4 Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Return of Title IV (R2T4) calculation and Institutional Refund calculation (IRC) are completed when students cease attendance at UMA. The R2T4 Specialist ensures all calculations and required refunds are completed within the time frame and guidelines outlined by the Department of Education (ED) and the UMA Catalog.
The R2T4 Specialist reports to the Manager, Student Finance.
UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.
- Anticipated starting rate of $18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
Functional:
- Request Pell grant refunds based on the ED requirements for Pell recalculation.
- Complete R2T4 calculations for students who cease attendance at UMA prior to graduation.
- Schedule all Title IV refunds that may be required as a result of the R2T4 calculation in Campus Nexus for issuance by the Business Office.
- Ensure refund letters are generated and sent to students if the R2T4 calculation determines a refund is required.
- Complete the IRC in accordance with the UMA Catalog for students who cease attendance at UMA prior to graduation.
- Complete the Return of Institutional Funding calculation when applicable for student who received Institutional funding.
Compliance:
- Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Skype and Microsoft Teams
- Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate degree
- Financial Aid experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Skype and Microsoft Teams with the ability to learn and apply other software platforms, as needed
- Ability to efficiently utilize and engage company resources for information.
Working Environment:
- This is a full time remote position
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
- Requires occasional bending, stooping and squatting
- Requires occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
