Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Test Technician to join a client for a swing shift position. This is a full-time, direct hire position. The client is located in Rancho Cordova. Hours for the role are Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
The client offers a sign on bonus of $7,500 after completion of 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled technician for the satellite communications industry. This person is responsible for the alignment, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of high-power solid-state microwave amplifiers. These amplifiers include a block upconverter and a digital control interface. Key duties include:
- Aligning and tuning high-power RF amplifiers to meet customer specifications, with a focus on S-Band, C-Band, X-Band, and Ku-Band amplifiers.
- Conducting RF measurements, including gain, power, VSWR, intermodulation distortion, 1dB compression, harmonics, and more.
- Operating and understanding RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex issues with high-power RF circuits.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent military/work experience.
- Strong interest in applying hands-on skills to tune, troubleshoot, and test RF and microwave circuits, utilizing principles of electronics and electrical circuits.
- Proficiency in soldering for tuning tasks.
- Solid computer skills for documentation and report generation.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident for ITAR compliance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required, with additional vocational or technical training.
- 2-5 years of directly related experience in RF or microwave technologies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently in front of customers or groups within the organization.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Understanding of basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
