Drafter

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drafter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of curtainwall, storefront, and window glazing systems, and be proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. This role is critical in supporting our project teams by producing accurate, high-quality shop drawings and submittals for commercial construction projects.

Location: Frederick MD

Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM

Pay: $75K plus depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings for curtainwall, storefront, and window glazing systems.
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings to generate accurate layouts and details.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and field personnel to ensure drawings meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare submittals and as-built drawings for client and contractor approval.
• Utilize Bluebeam to mark up and review drawings and submittals.
• Maintain organized project documentation and revision history.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, fabricators, and field teams as needed.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of drafting experience in a construction or architectural environment; glazing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); knowledge of Revit is a plus.
• Strong skills in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with industry standards and materials related to curtainwall, storefront, and window systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques and construction installation processes.
• Experience with aluminum framing systems (e.g., Kawneer, YKK, EFCO, etc.).
