We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator with a strong background in third-party logistics (3PL) and ground transportation to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating, tracking, and optimizing the movement of goods via domestic ground transportation providers while maintaining high standards of service and cost-efficiency. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely deliveries, managing carrier relationships, and supporting daily logistics operations across the supply chain.
- Coordinate daily shipments and deliveries through 3PL partners and ground transportation providers.
- Schedule and monitor pickups, track shipments, and proactively resolve transportation issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, vendors, and internal teams regarding ground freight logistics.
- Manage logistics documentation including BOLs, PODs, shipping invoices, and customs paperwork as needed.
- Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update ERP or TMS systems regularly.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies related to transportation and logistics.
- Communicate shipment status and delivery updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and sales departments to align logistics operations with business needs.
- Support vendor management activities including rate negotiations, contract reviews, and performance tracking.
- 2-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination, with specific experience in 3PL and ground transportation.
- Strong understanding of domestic freight operations, trucking regulations, and carrier networks.
- Proficient in logistics software and systems (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with reporting and data analysis preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume logistics environment.
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and freight forwarding a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
