SUMMARY
The Intern, Compliance and Tax is responsible for assisting with and learning the duties associated with the compliance and tax reporting for the clients.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
FUND COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT
- Assists with the daily monitoring of fund compliance while learning the rules and regulations under SubChapter M of the IRS Code and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
- Aids in the preparation of fund compliance reports monthly for various clients.
TAX ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT
Assists with obtaining tax documents needed for the preparation of tax provisions for various funds (Schedule K-1s, Grantor Trust Tax Documents, REIT Dividend Allocations, etc.)Coordinates the receipt of tax returns from various audit firms.Aids in researching tax topics as needed.ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Assists with projects assigned by Manager.Assumes other general administrative duties as assigned (faxing, scanning, copying, etc.).Ensures forms, policies, systems, and other information are kept current.Maintains files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.Assists with data gathering and spreadsheet preparation for projects as assigned.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Daily contact with Compliance and Tax team regarding activities associated with fund compliance and tax reporting.Some interaction with Fund Administration on issues that overlap the teams.May perform other duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED.Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior working towards a bachelor's degree in an applicable field.KNOWLEDGE
