What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Blender Apprentice position at Ultra-Look Corp?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and start all mixing tanks and blenders.
- Obtains and understands all documentation for making batches. Ensures correct ingredients are used for each batch.
- Pumping and pouring chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities.
- Operates equipment (mixers, scales, meters, pumps, forklifts, etc.) safely.
- Records test results, batches of solutions mixed, and chemicals used in each batch for production and inventory purposes.
- Ensures all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and information on containers and containers are in good condition.
- Follow lab instructions regarding batch approval, adjustments, and any additional requirements.
- Cleans equipment when needed.
- Complete all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner.
- Observe safety requirements set forth by company.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, product recipes, material identification, etc.
- Able to manipulate 55 gallon drums and 275 gallon totes of chemicals using equipment.
- Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Able to perform these operations using weight and volume measurements.
- Able to manipulate powder bags up to 55 lbs.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Forklift experience, a minimum of two years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
