We are committed to excellence and quality in our products and processes. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Operator to join our Manufacturing team.

THE ROLE

The Machine Operator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the filling crew on the production line. This position focuses on ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, managing scheduling, and facilitating communication among team members. As a player-coach, the Line Leader actively fills crew duties while supervising processes. Although the Fill Crew Leader does not have direct supervisory responsibilities over personnel, they hold the authority to discipline and correct behavior on the floor. This role oversees both the large-batch and small-batch fill lines.

This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may also apply, as necessary.

• Leadership: guide and instruct team members on production procedures and standards, to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. You will monitor work quality and performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Operations: Manage daily filling operations on the lines. This includes prioritizing filling orders to ensure deadlines are met and monitoring the performance of filling equipment. Active participation in filling operations is also expected.
• Quality Control: Participate in regular inspections and quality checks alongside the filling crew to ensure all filled containers meet quality standards. Fill lines are correct, labels are on straight, and sprayers are secured.
• Process Improvement: Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality
• Safety: Enforce adherence to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements, promote a safety culture, and model safe practices. Including enforcing all PPE
• Communication and Reporting: Serve as the primary contact for the filling crew, facilitating clear communication and addressing operational concerns. Maintain accurate production documentation and provide accurate progress updates.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized filling area to ensure operational efficiency. Oversee and participate in routine cleaning and maintenance activities, regularly inspect equipment for maintenance needs, and promptly report malfunctions or breakdowns.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing is a plus
• Minimum of two years of Forklift Experience
• A minimum of one year’s experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in chemical industries, experience with Inline filling or Apex fill lines is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage operational processes and ensure quality standards
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, including experience with scheduling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety and compliance
• Proven ability to work in a team environment - as an active team member, group facilitator, and a leader
• Problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to operate manufacturing and plant equipment (i.e.: forklift, electric pallet jack, dispensers, etc.)
