Job Description: Machine Operators are responsible for everyday machine operation of the Surface Mount (SMT), Coating, Wave or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment. This is an entry-level Machine Operator position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).
- Follow directions, read from and interpret written instructions
- Make sound judgments while operating production equipment
- Organize responsibilities to achieve maximum output to meet production and quality requirements
- Understand and follow all applicable quality system procedures and perform all assigned responsibilities outlined in the quality system
- Keep work areas neat and organized
- Follow established product handling procedures consistently
- Setup, run and tear down jobs on each of the production lines
- Operate the SMT line, Wave, coating or AOI equipment
- Provide general assistance to the workflow when and where needed
- Perform daily cleaning of machine as needed
- Follow the daily checklist
- Communicate with the Automation Technicians, Supervisor, or Team Leads on quality issues
- Verify parts on the line
- Assist Automation Technicians as needed
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language
- Knowledge of SMT, Wave, AOI or coating equipment preferred but not required
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good verbal skills and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment
- Ability to fill out daily records and logs
- Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones

- Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks.
- Physical ability to move freely and have sufficient reflexes to perform the same tasks repeatedly using hands to complete the task at a constant rate so the assembly line will not be interrupted.
- Hand-eye coordination necessary to work with small electronic parts.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis.
