Purpose of the Position:
The Account Manager is responsible for both attracting new strategic corporate employers for UMA graduates and expanding relationships with existing healthcare employers. The Account Manager's focus is in the healthcare industry, specifically addressing the needs of healthcare employers to find entry level employees that are trained in the programs offered by UMA. The Account Manager develops client relationships across multiple geographies throughout the United States.

The Account Manager establishes and/or expands national strategic client relationships for UMA with healthcare employers who are in healthcare verticals including but not limited to:

  • Healthcare Informatics
  • Pharmacies
  • Healthcare Staffing Agencies
  • Healthcare Call Centers
  • Plasma and Blood Centers
  • Insurance Providers
  • Large national health systems
  • National healthcare

Key Responsibilities:
Functional:

  • Work closely with the National Director of Corporate Alliance to create a business plan to develop relationships geared to improving placement outcomes with high-potential corporate partners.
  • Develop meaningful relationships in target national healthcare vertical, with the ability to establish relationships with national accounts to support specific program outcomes, when needed.
  • Maintain outreach to established and new potential national accounts on a regular basis.
  • Establish a minimum of number of client meetings per week with senior level decision makers at target firms.
  • Achievement of a minimum of committed relationships that result in an increased number of student placements, measured on a quarter over quarter and year over year basis; to be considered successfully placed, a placement must meet UMA's accreditor's standards for a placement and positions must provide employment that is continuing and/or sustainable, with minimum experience and credentialing requirements to allow trained and career ready entry-level graduates an opportunity to successfully enter the allied healthcare marketplace.
  • Development of reputation and expertise within the target market to establish UMA as a go-to source for talent.
  • Strong research skills to uncover and understand potential partner hiring needs, job paths, and decision makers within partner organizations.
  • Available for travel when needed, including weekends if required.
  • Active participation in planning and attending appropriate conferences to develop new contacts.
  • Available to answer employer questions via email and phone as they arise, whether during regular business hours or outside of typical business hours, as needed.
  • Ability to track progress across individual accounts/employers in required CRM utilized by UMA.
  • Development of strong internal relationships across UMA departments.
  • Participation in on-campus meetings as needed for cross-collaboration, employer sessions, production enhancements, strategy sessions, or at management request.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Compliance:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of building relationships, either through a proven track record within UMA's Career Services team or from an outside organization.
  • Aptitude for effectively working with employers to help place individuals into the employer's open roles.
  • 1 year of experience in medical staffing or career services in the allied health field.
  • Strong background of attracting new clients along with maximizing existing relationships.
  • Ability to develop consultative relationships and to converse effectively throughout HR and Talent Acquisition functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex pursuits at a given time.
  • Ability to pursue, negotiate, and close strategic national accounts.
  • Ability and history of being able to close deals in an entrepreneurial environment nationally.
  • Able to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Skype and Microsoft Teams
  • Able to support a diverse and inclusive work environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or other advanced degree
  • More than 1 year of experience in medical staffing or career services in the allied health field
  • Deep understanding of business issues facing clients particularly in the healthcare industry. Specific experience in an industry vertical.
  • Prior recruiting and/or staffing experience.
  • Experienced in executive search, employment staffing, career services, out placement services or sales experience in the corporate sector.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a high-pressure environment with timeline pressures.
  • Proven track record in professional sales or business development.
  • Committed, with strong follow-up skills.
  • Past success in servicing customers in a people-oriented industry.
  • Dynamic, high-energy personality.
  • Experienced with cold calling.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse customer base.
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented with a can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Positive, outgoing, and confident demeanor

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time remote position, with only occasional, planned onsite or travel requirements.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
