Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Class A CDL Required)

Job Description

UMA Geotechnical Contracting is a leader in geotechnical and Geo stabilization construction, providing top-quality service. We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with a Class A CDL to join our team and help keep our fleet operating at peak performance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and dump trucks.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and perform repairs.
• Complete work orders, maintain accurate records of repairs, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Safely operate and transport heavy equipment as needed using a Class A CDL.
• Work in various environments, including outdoor job sites and shop settings.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic in a construction, transportation, or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, welding, and fabrication is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment parts, work in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASE Certification or other relevant certifications.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and DOT compliance.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
