Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
Position responsible for performing diversified mechanical bench assembly operations to build large and small components to precise specification requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs assembly, rework, and inspection in the production of finished products for manufacturing.
Utilize hand tools, fixtures, pneumatics, manual presses and power tools for the assembly of components.
Work from verbal as well as documented work instructions, bill of materials, pre-established guidelines, complex assembly drawings and blueprints.
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, gauging devices and test equipment to verify proper function and operation of assemblies.
Keep control of materials needed for the department.
Determine ways to consistently improve productivity, quality and safety.
Cleaning responsibilities including equipment and work area.
Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
Maintains safe work environment
Works under supervision
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Versatility required to perform many and varied other assembly and soldering operations manually.
Must have reasonable dexterity in hands to manipulate small parts.
Ability to read blueprints required
Basic computer skills required
Additional Characteristics:
This position works as both an individual contributor and in a team environment
This position requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
This position may require standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
This position requires good manually dexterity and visual acuity
This position will require the use of a variety of equipment including hand tools and calibrated measuring equipment in the normal performance of their jobs such as, but not limited to: calipers, plug gauges, drop indicators, force gauges, torque measuring screwdrivers, oscilloscope, dial gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, and specially designed PMT manufacturing measuring equipment.
This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils
