As a Histopathology Laboratory Assistant I, you will work with Grossing and Histology Laboratory&
Technicians, other Laboratory Assistants, and Supervisor.&
This position performs the pre-analytical processing of patient samples based on established laboratory procedures and frequently resolves processes not defined by standard practice.&
Responsibilities and Duties Including but not limited to : &
Determine the acceptability of veterinary specimens for testing according to established criteria.&
Receive and organize veterinary specimens.&
Prepare specimens for processing and analysis using aseptic techniques.&
Accessioning histopathology specimens into the laboratory information systems.&
Contacting clinics for more information via email or telephone.&
Identifying problem specimens and specimens not suitable for analysis.&
Computer data entry and retrieval.&
Monitor, identify, and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.&
Maintain an organized and clean laboratory space.&
Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.&
Assist in other areas as needed.&
Change tissue processors&
Dump and rotate wet tissue bins.&
Scan wet tissue jars, blocks, and slides.&
Knowledge, Qualifications : &
High School Diploma or equivalent.&
Laboratory Experience is preferred but not required.&
Team Oriented&
Robust organization and time management skills.&
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required.&
