Overview

The Medical Device Assembler plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and assembly of medical devices that are vital for patient care and safety. This position is integral to maintaining high-quality standards and efficiency in the production process. Assemblers work in compliance with industry regulations and company policies to ensure that all products meet required specifications. They utilize precise measurements, adhere to design specifications, and coordinate with team members to optimize productivity. The assembler’s attention to detail and operational expertise are essential in minimizing errors and maintaining the integrity of the devices being produced. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical devices according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of components and assemblies for quality assurance.
  • Utilize hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Document assembly processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality control staff to resolve issues.
  • Test assembled devices to ensure functionality and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety.
  • Follow established protocols and safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
  • Train and mentor new team members in assembly techniques and safety practices.
  • Monitor inventory levels of components and materials required for assembly.
  • Report any discrepancies or defects to the supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards in the assembly process.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly tools and equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in assembly or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with medical device manufacturing regulations.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electronic principles.
  • Certifications related to assembly or quality control preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50lbs.
  • Experience with precision tools and instrumentation.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Willingness to undergo regular training and development.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening as required.
