Job Title: Project Manager - Commercial Construction
Location: Phoenix, AZ / Lake Charles, LA
Overview:
A leading nationwide provider of commercial construction services, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will primarily focus on vertical construction projects, including mid-rise, high-rise, data centers, and distribution centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale commercial construction projects and a proven track record of leadership in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee large vertical construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Organize and coordinate project teams to achieve project goals and milestones efficiently.
- Provide strong leadership throughout all phases of the project, from pre-construction to closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, using tools such as BIM, Primavera, MS Project, Excel, and Word.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, owners, and subcontractors to ensure effective project execution.
- Lead negotiations and manage contracts with owners to protect company interests and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Use problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality control, and all relevant codes and standards.
- Oversee all aspects of the project’s operational and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of commercial construction management experience, with a focus on vertical construction projects.
- Proven experience with medium to large projects, specifically $20M in value (candidates must provide details of past projects).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of BIM, Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in organizing and managing project teams.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and contract management.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant, full-time construction management experience, with no gaps in employment or education.
- Job stability is essential—no candidates with a history of job hopping. We prefer candidates with at least 4 years of tenure at each previous company.
- No contractors will be considered for this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
