We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to manage civil construction projects and provide field support. This role is safety-sensitive and requires an individual who can ensure the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide construction management on one or more generation sites/routine handling projects ranging in budget from 3 million to 100 million from feasibility/development through start-up and testing.
- Construct and execute major civil projects through requests for proposal solicitations, contractor and equipment evaluations/selection, engineering review, startup and testing, performance testing, and environmental compliance testing and reporting.
- Perform as the company's responsible point of contact regarding construction interface, emergency preparedness lead, and deputy operations section chief in the event of a civil emergency.
- Be present at the project site during construction as necessary to provide direction.
- Accountable for the quality, cost-effectiveness, timely completion, and performance of each project assigned.
- Develop and implement strategies for reducing cost and improving customer satisfaction.
- Review the project budget, cost forecasts, and schedules to ensure project completion within pre-established goals and targets.
- Responsible and accountable for meeting the pre-established project safety and environmental goals while developing a safety culture of zero injuries for the project construction sites.
- Manage multiple engineers supporting the project including TVA personnel and contractor personnel acting as owners' agents.
- Direct a site team consisting of TVA employees and contract personnel hired to construct specific capital and O&M projects such as administrative personnel, controls, scheduler, safety, engineers, environmental, field supervisors, etc.
- Ensure site safety and environmental expectations are understood and adhered to by reviewing/approving site-specific work plans with attention also to the compaction and placement of CCR product.
- Responsible for procurement of the TVA and contractor equipment.
- Interface and coordinate with the company's plant operations, engineering, facilities management, procurement, and other groups.
- Develop a project construction plan with each contributing group i.e. contractor, engineering, project team, and plant operations, and combine those into the integrated schedule.
- Establish and maintain an integrated project schedule with contingency planning.
- This position can be part time. Position will be utilized on small demolition projects across the Valley. Typical duration of assignments is between 2 weeks and 3-4 months. Demolition experience or construction management experience required.
