Overview

An Electrician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within various settings. Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical specifications
• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
• Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
• Provide training and supervision to apprentices

• Keep records of electrical operations and maintenance

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program
• Licensure as a journeyman electrician
• 5 years of experience as an electrician
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems and wiring regulations
• Ability to use a wide range of tools and equipment safely
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent understanding of safety procedures and legal regulations
• Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities

• Familiarity with relevant technical and professional standards
