Key responsibilities
- Performing diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and mammograms
- Preparing patients for radiology procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety
- Operating and maintaining diagnostic imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Following radiation safety protocols and ensuring proper use of protective equipment
- Assisting radiologists and other medical professionals during imaging procedures
- Maintaining accurate patient records and imaging files for reference and analysis
- Communicating effectively with patients to explain procedures and address concerns
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to coordinate and prioritize imaging requests
- Adhering to ethical and professional standards in radiology practice
- Participating in quality assurance initiatives to maintain imaging standards and protocols
- Continuously updating knowledge and skills in radiology technology and advancements
- Participating in training and mentoring of new radiology staff as needed
- Responding to emergencies and urgent imaging needs with efficiency and composure
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards in radiology
- Supporting a positive and collaborative work environment within the radiology department
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Proven experience in performing diagnostic imaging procedures in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in operating X-ray, CT, MRI, and mammography equipment
- Excellent understanding of radiology principles and imaging protocols
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple imaging requests effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition and analysis
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals
