Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Psychiatric
Location: Coldwater, MI

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for patients with mental health disorders, substance abuse issues, and behavioral challenges. The RN will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers to ensure patients receive high-quality, individualized care in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects and therapeutic responses.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain patient and staff safety.
• Assist patients in managing mental health conditions through education and therapeutic communication.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and medication adherence.
• Participate in group therapy sessions and facilitate patient-centered interventions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active RN license (state-specific or compact license).
• BLS certification required; ACLS & CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred.
• 1 years of behavioral health, psychiatric, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mental health conditions, substance abuse treatment, and psychiatric medications.
• Excellent communication, de-escalation, and crisis management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
