Overview

The Experimental N/C Programmer plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of numerical control programs for CNC machinery. The Experimental N/C Programmer is responsible for translating engineering designs into operational machine instructions, collaborating closely with engineers and production teams to optimize processes and troubleshoot issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs based on prototype designs and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for proposed programming solutions and adjustments.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to align programming with project requirements.
  • Test and validate CNC programs to ensure accurate execution and quality output.
  • Debug and troubleshoot existing programs to resolve production inefficiencies.
  • Integrate feedback from machinists to enhance and refine programming approaches.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all programming procedures and revisions.
  • Manage multiple program revisions and prioritize tasks based on production schedules.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators on new CNC programming techniques.
  • Research and implement cutting-edge programming methodologies and software.
  • Review technical drawings and blueprints to prepare machined prototypes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during programming activities.
  • Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements based on operational data.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to align programming with quality control metrics.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to provide insights and programming updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in CNC programming and operations.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming languages.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as SolidWorks or Mastercam.
  • Familiarity with various types of CNC machines and their operational nuances.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of machining materials and their properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Willingness to adapt to new software and technologies as needed.
