Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Under the general supervision of the Director or designee, the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician will inspect, test, maintain, calibrate, monitor and troubleshoot power plant instrumentation and electrical equipment and generate written reports and audits for these systems. The technician will be required to develop, write, debug, and implement computer programs and graphics for control, monitoring, alarming, data acquisition, and safety shut down systems on boilers, turbines and generators.
Responsibilities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, adjustment and maintenance of all site instrumentation / control and electrical components of a Combined Cycle power plant.
- Responsible for the inspection and repair of instrumentation and electrical components. Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment assigned.
- Assist others in conducting and evaluating equipment efficiency tests.
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of all Electrical, Instrumentation and Control systems of the plant.
- Develop, implement and perform long range Instrument, Control and Electrical equipment maintenance procedures and records.
- Maintain correct calibration on all components / equipment assigned.
- Maintain and use environmental measurement equipment as required.
- Inspect, adjust and test all Steam Turbine and Boiler and Chiller equipment controls and participate in periodic inspections of the plant.
- Perform systems engineering, equipment specifications and other engineering services as necessary for the Instrumentation, Control and Electrical interfaces of balance of plant equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Support Operations and Maintenance personnel in daily operation of the plant as required.
- Complete all assigned tasks by priority and in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist as necessary in maintaining plant computer network.
- Recommend spare parts requirements for all IC & E equipment.
- While in the performance of routine duties; may be required, as needed to perform all work associated with all maintenance trades of an equal or lower graded classification; where the work or task does not require a specific license.
- Perform other duties as required.

Applicable military training and experience, which will provide experience equivalent to the aforementioned qualifications. Plus

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
May perform work in all Medical Center facilities and is subject to possible exposure to chemicals, gases, electrical shock; may work in confined spaces on ladders. Ability to perform physically arduous tasks; normal dexterity, visual acuity, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to climb and work from ladders and scaffolding, and work in confined areas
