Overview
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Laboratory Technician II is responsible for the maintenance of daily laboratory operations, performing a wide variety of research and / or development laboratory tasks and experiments and maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Asceptically cultures common mammalian cell lines
- Vials biological material
- Packs and ships temperature-sensitive biological material
- Keeps track of and maintains inventory
- Performs autoclaving of biohazard waste
- Washes and autoclaves glassware
- Maintains lab stocks of general consumables
- Assists with buffer and media preparation
- Monitors and maintains all equipment, ensures that general preventative maintenance is conducted
- Develops new more time effective approaches to maintaining the day-to-day operations of the laboratory
- Performs additional job duties as required
