Office Assistant III
SALARY: $3,098.00/ Month - Plus Excellent Benefits

WORK LOCATION: This is NOT a remote position and work will be fully onsite.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This position performs advanced confidential secretarial work to include Motions, Affidavits, Judgments and Dispositions, Expunctions, and other Legal Documents for signatures. Additionally, this position provides for a full range of secretarial assistance to the Director, Deputy Director and Probation Counselor(s). Duties include computer operations, typing, filing, recording and reviewing documents that may be sensitive in nature. Performs telephone duties, assists and greets the public and other position duties as listed below.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
This position will report to and operate under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director as well as the Director .
PRINCIPAL DUTIES OF POSITION
Duties include but are not limited to as follows:
- Prepare legal documents to include Motions, Affidavits, Judgments and Dispositions, Expunctions Summons, Subpoenas, Notices and all other legal documents as directed for signature for all delinquency cases. (EE)
- Provide secretarial support to the Deputy Director and Probation Counselors.
- Performs filing, typing, recording and reviewing documents that may be confidential and/or sensitive in nature.
- Performs telephone duties. (EE)
- Greet and assist the public. (EE)
- Provide Notary Services to Juvenile Division Staff. (EE)
- Assist in the maintenance of files for juveniles over 18 years of age, to include destroying files of juveniles who have reached their Birthdate Eligibility.
- Coordinates the victim's packets, questions, and correspondence on all delinquency cases. (EE)
- Assist in performing background checks for armed services, Job Corps, Police Agencies and other Juvenile Departments.
- Assist Probation Counselors, Office Manager, and Administrator.
- Perform the daily mail ? run to the Courthouse. (EE)
- Computer literacy required to produce legal documents.
- Attend all staff meetings and minute taking.
- Monitor and coordinate expunction process in compliance with time lines set by State Guidelines. (EE)
- Assists public with completion of expunction request and general information.
- Maintain a safe, clean work area, personal and public safety is a priority.
- Establish and maintain a harmonious working relationship with other employees and general public.
- Work as directed by the immediate supervisor in accordance with the bargaining agreement and County policy.
OTHER DUTIES OF POSITION
This position shall also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/or the Deputy Director.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
- High School diploma/GED required; or .
- Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system
- Self-motivated
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Establish and maintain appropriate, professional relationships with coworkers and outside agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge and skillful use of computers and assorted office equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of people, including sometimes angry and emotional juvenile offenders and parents.
- Ability to work with confidential information and perform as a team member.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instruction
