Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, and will be responsible for assessing functional needs and applied effective behavioral strategies. This role is crucial in supporting our clients to achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life.
Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical and functional behavior assessments to identify individual needs and develop tailored behavioral intervention plans.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behavior changes.
- Maintain accurate medical and other records and documentation of client progress and interventions.
- Provide training and support to staff on behavioral strategies and best practices in home and community settings.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral interventions, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.
-Completion of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress notes
- Stay informed about current research and developments in the field of behavioral therapy and developmental disabilities.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those on the autism spectrum.
- Strong understanding of adult services principles and practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical documentation processes including psychotropic medication reviews.
- Experience in patient assessment and the ability to create effective treatment plans based on individual needs.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with adults is highly desirable.
