Job Summary The Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses This Job Posting reflects openings only for 2nd shift 5 : 30pm - 1 : 30am (If other shifts are available, they will be posted separately. Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to : Refine and maintain floors and carpets throughout the main hospital and any assigned campuses Ensure clean utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas to visitors and staff Collect and dispose of soiled linen, and assist with clean linen distribution, when needed Provide minor general maintenance task including but not limited to : hanging drapes / cubicle curtains, moving furniture, etc All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Attention to detail Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety Physical Capabilities Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE); Ability to lift / move various types of equipment, supplies / chemicals, and furniture of medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching. Environmental / Working Conditions This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood / blood borne pathogens is high risk.
