Job SummaryThe Equipment Technician in Nursing Support Services is responsible for coordinating bed movement and department equipment in accordance with hospital policy and DNV
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Conduct active repairs and yearly preventive maintenance on beds, stretchers, cribs,
- Performs equipment calibration and maintenance. The maintenance may include labeling,
- Update and maintain inventory of all equipment, cleaning solutions, and any accessories.
- Provide education/in service to departmental staff for evacuation equipment, safe patient
- Perform annual inventory and maintenance of equipment
- All other related assigned duties
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to disassemble, clean, and assemble equipment parts
- Knowledge of inventory control basics
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
This position will interact with various departments and hospital staff
Physical Capabilities
Requires extended periods of standing, walking, talking, and listening. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work irregular hours and may include weekends
Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures
